Fraxinus

Oregon ash is our only member of the genus Fraxinus (with Mountain Ash from very different genetics and in the genus Sorbus). It is a large wetland tree, able to grow under spring inundation. It has recently been infected by the emerald ash borer, which has devastated Fraxinus populations on the East Coast.
